    Youth Parliament

Youth Parliament is conducted annually in Kendriya Vidyalayas at three levels – Regional, Zonal, and National. This initiative aims to familiarize students with the functioning of the parliamentary system in India.

Youth parliament is a platform offered to the youngsters where they are given a mock parliament set-up and exposure to the parliament type Debate. It is significant due to following reasons:

    1. In order to create a set of youngsters who have an idea of the parliament, the best way is to make them sit in that environment.
    2. It is a platform to discuss the national issue on a large scale in a proper forum and in front of the experienced moderators.
    3. It brings the like-minded youngsters on the same platform and offers a chance for the creation of a community to discuss and come up with the possible solutions.
The purposes of Youth Parliament are as follows:-
      1. To develop in students an insight into the working parliament.
      2. To make students consider public issues and form their opinion on them.
      3. To train students in the technique of group discussion.
      4. To develop in students an ability to arrive at decision after group discussion.
      5. To develop respect and tolerance for the views of others.
      6. To make students aware of various problems faced by our society and the country.
